Criminal Minds Fans Season 10 Wish List!

Criminal Minds Fans Season 10 Wish List!Criminal Minds Fans Season 10 Wish List!

As we head into the tenth season of our favorite crime drama, I thought it was about time to poll the fandom and see just exactly what is on everyone’s wish list for the coming year. Here is a strong showing of answers received, loud and clear for all to hear! If you don’t see your particular hopes and dreams for our Beautiful BAU Babies listed, go ahead and leave it in the comments – you never know who might be reading!

Wheels UP on season 10!

zannej says – It would be interesting to see the team go to a place without technology – say an Amish community – and have to try to solve a case without computers and such. It would be interesting if they had to dress up as Amish people to fit in and not attract too much attention. Reid would have a field day with the lack of technology.

I would love to see Reid actually teaching the rest of the team how to do something for a change. I’d like to see them remember that he is a handwriting expert and have a case where there are things supposedly written by the victim, but Reid can tell they were written by someone else. And I sort of want to see someone call Reid out on his knowledge and have him prove he knows by explaining something.

Since they’ve added Agent Kate Callahan, I’d like her to be someone who makes sense as a choice for the team and who qualifies without exceptions. I want it to be someone with a skillset that is not in the realm of expertise of the other characters. Something unique that won’t make her take anything away from the rest of the team, but something useful so it won’t only be used in one or two episodes. Someone who can help the show return to the psychological exploration.

idiotwaltz says – I’d like to see some episodes where the team splits up and work different cases, just for variety’s sake and can we please have more Asian-Americans on this show! If not a lead, then at least some recurring characters would be nice. We have Dr. Kimura, and Detective Kim of the LAPD, and the boy Reid plays chess with in the park, but other than that, I can’t recall any Asian-Americans on the show, even as victims.

SFMbbgrrlz22 says – More shirtless Derek Morgan!!

normasm says – I think the Edge of Winter episode (9×19), which combined the retrospect profiling of a case with the present day prep for trial, was refreshing, and showed us how they actually spend a lot of their time. It’d be nice to see more of the trial/testifying side of the job. Tabula Rasa was the only other time I remember them doing this, and it was well-done.

CRIMINAL MINDS

Willowy says – I’d like to see Nathan Harris get released and seek Reid out because he’s still having trouble. It would be interesting to see him get framed for murdering prostitutes, and I want Elle (who’s a PI now, specializing in sex crimes) to call the BAU for help or vice versa.

I want to see Reid’s team members continue to respect his contributions and not shut him up or roll their eyes at him ever again. I want the writers to remember how proactive and powerful he was in season 9 (physically subduing and psyching out UnSubs! Delivering babies! Saving Blake’s and Garcia’s ex’s lives!), and to keep that ball rolling hard into season 10. He’s a much more mature character and should be treated as such, not so much the “baby brother” any more.

My wish is to see MORE TEAM EVERYTHING. We’re going into an anniversary year, I want to see more of whatever they want to give us from these characters. I want to see some of their gray shades a little more, after this long on the job there are bound to be some. I’d like to see corners as yet unexplored, and have more than just Reid and Garcia be more open about their love and dedication to one another. And I really need to see a return to the earlier Hotch/Reid dynamic.

I’d like to see Agent Callahan eventually fall for Reid and be jealous of his bond with JJ. I’d like to see Will get heroically killed in action. I’d like to see Hotch come back strong as our team leader, and I want to see more of Morgan’s bomb expertise. I’d also like to see Rossi get promoted, because as much as I love Rossi, a man his age running around shooting at UnSubs is too far-fetched.

mstaken says – I always liked Elle and loved the Elle/Reid dynamic, so I’d really enjoy it if she were brought back for an episode or two so that we could see a little more of it and see if she managed to channel her anger in a slightly, er, less murderous direction than when we last saw her. Also I’d like a little bit more twisty mystery and psychological suspense and less ‘run around waving guns’ action and torture porn, please!

Old Dog says – Put the PROFILING first!! This is not some action cop movie. Show Reid consistently as the grown up BAU agent of over ten years standing that he is, and bring back the lovely Hotch/Reid relationship they used to have.

IndependentMind says – I would love to see Emily replace Cruz! That way she will only need to be in a few episodes. And yeah no more Agent Salt or wannabe Tomb Raider or yeah Sidney Bristow in Erica Messer’s world also known as Jennifer Jarreau. This is not a spy show!

missmycat says – I want next season to be team-centric with heavy emphasis on Hotch and Reid, and Rossi somewhat. Less screen time for Morgan, JJ and Garcia. IMO Morgan and JJ had so damn much screen time this season you could cut it in half next season and they would still be pretty prevalent in the show. Garcia should not be getting more focus than the profilers themselves. At the very least I’d like to see some Reid/Morgan scenes without them feeling the need to almost always insert JJ into them.

And finally I wish (although I’d probably be better off wishing for the winning powerball numbers) they’d go back and study how Garcia was used in the earlier seasons. Its always been a bone of contention of mine that both critics and fans alike often see her as the one who solves the cases via her computer. Garcia should be seen as a valuable asset to the team, instead of someone who makes them seem irrelevant at times.

LuvsMyCM says – I want to see a BOLDER Reid. He made some great strides last year but I want to see him at the forefront more. I also wish to see Diana Reid make at least one appearance. Glee is not the reason Jane Lynch hasn’t been able to appear, because when she was asked about a guest spot on Criminal Minds she said she hadn’t even been asked to do it. ASK her, show. Maybe she’ll say yes! I also want more Rossi.

JJReid says – I want to see JJ and Spencer finally get together.

JustMyOpinion says – I want story lines that are creative in an emotional vein, and not simply coming up with a more gory way to kill. “Riding the Lightning” is a good example of what I mean. Cases where one or more members of the team has an emotional investment. Not necessarily a completely character-centric case – but a case where someone relates more to the victim, or the family, or even the UnSub. To me, that is the preferred context for revealing something of the characters’ personal lives. And I can’t imagine it doesn’t happen to at least one of them on every case.

I want more of their friendships. Just a line or two as they’re heading out, or back in. A touch on the shoulder, in understanding or support. Not the group thing, but the pairs. Each of them has a different quality of relationship with each of the others, and the ‘family gathering’ totally dilutes that, to the detriment of the show. With the exception of Morgan and Garcia (which has been uncreatively overdone), the friendships have been sorely missing.

And just one more, very specific, thing; I want some Henry and Reid. I think the relationship with his godson could bring Reid some much needed joy and unconditional love.
