Criminal Minds Writer Virgil Williams Scores OSCAR NOM for Mudbound!

 

I know many of you are pleased to join me in congratulating our former Criminal Minds scribe and producer Virgil for his accomplishment in garnering an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay for Mudbound. He, along with director Dee Rees, his co-nominee, adapted the screenplay from the book of the same name by Hillary Jordan. He says the book “found him” about 8 years ago, and it’s been a journey ever since.

It’s a beautiful story and an incredibly moving and truthful film. It’s unflinching, and there are parts that are so hard to watch, although it’s also a lyrical, brutal, hopeful story that speaks to the human connection in all of us, and the injustices we humans inflict on one another.
