Criminal Minds S12 Update! Lots to Share This Week!
**Author’s Note** For those readers that have asked, I’m well aware of the situation between Thomas and Virgil, and I’d rather not add to our Criminal Minds friends troubles by gossiping about it here. I’ll make a full report when and after there’s been a suitable solution reached for all involved. Until then, let’s see what else has been going on this week with our favorite show!
WHEELS UP on Season 12, Y’all!
First off, Aisha Tyler has been promoted to series regular status! That’s great news for fans of the versatile actor as well as fans of her no-nonsense character, Tara Lewis. Congratulations, Aisha! TVLine has this to say:
Tyler, whose days also include co-hosting The Talk, voicing Archer‘s Lana Kane and lording over Whose Line is It Anyway?, first appeared on the crime drama in the Season 11 premiere, to help fill the void left by the exit of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Kate Callahan and maternity leave of A.J. Cook’s “J.J.” Jareau.
Next up, Adam Rodriguez did a facebook chat today! He answers a few fan questions while charming us with his easy manner and appreciation for our show and the team he’s joining. I think he’s going to make a great addition to our BAU – what do YOU think?
Thirdly, Matthew decided to tweet our first look at the new cast photo… from the rear! This is excellent and Gee, I wonder which one is Garcia! A great take on the yearly photo shoot. MORE PLEASE!

Love the pics! What I need in S12 is Reid getting his happily ever after. Folks love to say the show isn’t a soap, and it most definitely is not, but have gone there with Every Other Character, and if anyone deserves a lil happiness, it’s Spencer, amirite?!

Yes, and I’ll do a full report once there’s been a resolution. It’s a tough time for our friends at Criminal Minds right now, and I prefer to not add any fuel to the fire. Here’s hoping for an equitable solution sooner rather than later.
Me too, I really hope that this isn’t permanent thing. The last thing we want is Thomas’s contract getting terminated. *crosses fingers for good hope*
Okay, so I’m still in shock about the news. Now normally, I would probably be really angry and protest, but I’m still in a sense of mourning, kind of like when Michael exited NCIS. I really hoped that this happened, but it did, so I hope they give some closure to his character.

I think I’m in a little bit of shock right now. I mean, I understand why it had to be done – violence in the workplace should never be tolerated – but Criminal Minds without Hotch….it’s just sad.
I am in complete agreement with you. I do hope they give the fans some closure. Even if it has to be filmed offsite, due respect for his 11 years playing such an honorable, well-loved character. I hope they give him a chance to say goodbye to Aaron, and a chance for us to say goodbye, too.
I hope you’re right. The fans of the show deserve that. I mean, if Mandy Patinkin can get a decent send off after what he did, let Thomas Gibson have one, too. I just have a bad feeling that’s not going to happen, and it will be a huge disservice to the character and the audience.
A series is only as good as its characters. Bad move. Thomas’s last performance will be the end of Criminal Minds for me. Good luck Thomas.
